Longline Leopard

November/December weather in Lexington, Kentucky, can be a bit hectic. While the temperature may be 45 degrees, the blazing sun makes it feel much warmer, and while it isn't necessary to wear a heavy coat just yet, a girl still needs a way to block out the occasional breeze—and what better way to do just that then with a leopard print cape?
While leopard print has always been my favorite of all patterns, it is not the most diverse. It's hard to find other prints that mesh well with it, so whenever donning a leopard piece, I choose to go classic with all black. A leopard cape is a major statement piece, so I wanted to wear something that would make it pop even more. My black, V-neck top and black skinny jeans are subtle enough that they don't detract from my cape, while remaining essential to the ensemble.
I went with a similar mindset with my shoes and accessories. A black, tattoo choker and a simple, silver chain can go a long way when wearing something as bold as leopard print, and while my boots have silver rivets, they aren't overtly flashy, adding just the smallest bit of sheen to otherwise basic, black boots. My bag, too, is a basic black cross-body, but I included a small, light pink puff key chain to add a bit of whimsy to an otherwise classic look.
If leopard print isn't for you, black capes are the perfect piece to wear with a variety of outfits. Whether you're walking to class or heading to brunch with friends, a longline cape is the perfect piece to ward of the occasional breeze on a warm autumn or winter day.
