Now that November has officially come to an end, I'm preparing for the impending winter and all that comes with it. But before the I turn up the thermostat and fire up the tea kettle, I thought it might be fun to share some of the things that I loved during the month of November.

1. Mary Kay Matte Lipstick - Mauve Moment

It's only been a few of months since Mary Kay launched their matte lipstick line. 3. Velvet

Whether it's a top, a skirt, a dress, or a pair of boots, velvet is a must-wear this season. I've always had a love-hate relationship with velvet. I think it's one of the most beautiful fabrics, but I can't stand the way it feels—it literally makes me cringe. That being said, I've always avoided wearing velvet...until this year, that is. With the velvet trend burning up the fall runways, I knew I had to hop on the train. So, despite my aversion to the too soft fabric, I splurged on a pale pink mini dress, a forest green maxi skirt, and even asked my parents for a pair of blue crushed velvet boots for Christmas (please, Mom <3). While I'm certain the velvet trend will last through the winter, I'm not so certain it will stick around for spring, so get your velvet and velour on while you still can!



4. Zootopia

You've probably seen it already, but if not, get on it ASAP! (It's on Netflix, btw)

Yes, that's right, I'm talking about a Disney film (Everyone loves Disney, right?). And okay, I know I am super late to the game on this one. The truth is I had wanted to see Zootopia while it was in theaters but with school and work, it just didn't happen. And then I worked all summer, andddd, well, I guess I'm making excuses, now. Anyway, I finally saw one of 2016's favorite films during Thanksgiving break (thanks to my wonderful friend, Olivia, who made me watch it), and all I can say is: WOW. I've always been a Disney fanatic, but it takes a lot of character building for me to truly love any character, and not only did I fall in love with one character, but two! Judy and Nick have such a great story leading up to their friendship, and they both grew so much as characters in their own right; it was impossible to pick a favorite between the two.
