Well, it's been a minute. Sorry I didn't post in March—and this may be my only post this month (I'm gonna try to post this weekend, though). I know I said at the start of the year that I would posting a few times each month, but unfortunately school and life in general kind of got in the way. The good news is I am almost done with the semester—finals are next week! This means summer vacay will soon be underway, so I'll time to get back into posting regularly.

With that out of the way, I just wanted to check in! I hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday! If you're in college and working through the end of the year/finals week chaos, you have my sympathies—may we all get through this together.

A little update on what I've been up to:

Earlier this month, I got to host the editor from my internship with CollegeFashionista for a special panel at my university! I was a bumbling, stuttering mess—messing up introductions and stuttering the whole way through—but all-in-all it was a great experience, and I was excited that CF entrusted me with the job.

In other news, I am almost done with my Junior of college, which means I'll only have one more year of undergrad left—yikes, that's a bit scary to think about. But for now, I'm just trying to enjoy the time I've got left, enjoying classes and hanging out with my friends.

I have hopes for the summer ahead and my impending Senior year :)

As I read back over this, I am noticing the ridiculous amount of em dashes I used. Oh well, who doesn't love a good em dash?

Hey everyone! The start of the new year always means setting goals and doing our best to meet them. One of my goals for this year is to post to this blog 3-4 times each month (I'm doing alright so far, don't you think?). Remember my November favorites post? Well, I thought to turn that into a monthly tradition for this blog. So, welcome to the second (of, hopefully, many) monthly favorites. On the last week of each month, I will be posting a list of some of the products and pop culture that I am loving right now. So, let's see what's got me hyped up this month!

1. Women's March

January 21st, 2017, was a day that will surely go down in history. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then do you even read the news? Never before has there been a protest of this scale, not only nationwide but WORLDWIDE.

While I wasn't able to make it to the official march in Washington, D.C., I was able to take part in the sister march in my college town of Lexington, KY. Thousands of people gathered in downtown Lexington to make their voices heard, and it was one of the most amazing gatherings of people I have ever bared witness too. I had never been prouder of my city and the beautiful, diverse people that live in it.



2. The CW's Riverdale

After only one episode, I am already OBSESSED with the CW's new show Riverdale. The show is like Gossip Girl meets Twin Peaks and it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Not to mention, the cast of (mostly) new comers is incredible, and hello??? Cole Sprouse, anyone? After playing Cody on The Suite Life for years and then taking a break and going to NYU, Sprouse brought some serious chops to the show, and he wasn't even in most of the episode. I am super excited to see episode two this coming week. I cannot wait to see what happens between Archie, Betty, and Veronica (my guess: DRAMA). Be on the look out for a more in-depth review of the show from me in the coming weeks. I would have posted a review of episode one, but I want to assess the show a little more before really hashing out how I feel about it. But to keep things simple for now: I love it.




3. Trust Fund Beauty's "Method to the Madness" Lip Gloss

Lately, I've had a penchant for neutrals when it comes to my beauty routine. So, this lush lip gloss that I received in my January Ipsy Glam Bag was simply perfect. One coat left the perfect, slight rose-y sheen, making it wearable with almost any look. Also, it goes on feeling slick and smooth, not sticky like so many other lip glosses.

Trust Fund Beauty also has an array of other lip colors, both lipstick and lip gloss, and you can bet I'll be getting my hands on more of this fabulous brand.


4. La La Land

Okay, I know everyone loves La La Land, and you don't want to hear more about it anymore and blah blah blah. It just so happens that I don't care haha :) But in all seriousness, there is a reason why this film won seven Golden Globes and has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are entrancing. It's rare that I see film, a love story especially, where I absolutely adore both people involved. And the concept of reimagining the style of the classic musical films is amazing. Not to mention, every song is Grammy-worthy in its own right. Honestly, you should believe all the hype on this one, and go see it ASAP, if you haven't already.
