These Summer Days
7:12:00 PMHello everyone! I am so sorry that it has been so long since my last post. This summer has been hectic (in the best way), so I haven't had much time for personal writing. I thought perhaps I could share with you all a bit of what I've been up to and share some of the fun that I've had this past few months.
As I mentioned in my last post, I am now a Style Guru Intern for CollegeFashionista, and I am loving every minute of it. (If you're interested, you can check out my second article here.) In addition to CollegeFashionista, I've started writing for a wonderful site called The Femail Daily (you check that out here.)
I have been busy, busy, busy with work and writing and getting ready to move into a new apartment in August, but amidst it all, I've still had time for some fun!
On May 31st, Some of my friends and I saw my favorite band Twenty One Pilots at US Bank Arena! It was my second time seeing the boys live and it was AMAZING. I was at the barricade (YAS) and right next to Josh Dun and his drums when he (drum?) crowd surfed. They're going to be back in the area for a show next March, and I'm hoping I can get tickets (@ mom and dad: christmas maybe???)
Later that week, my best friend Allie and I drove to Philadelphia for the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con. We spent most of Friday driving, but after we checked into our hostel we went to a Chinese lantern festival in Franklin Square. The lanterns were enormous and positively gorgeous, and there were so many of them! The square was completely filled with the glowing creations. Unfortunately, we couldn't stick around for it to get super dark out because we had to get up early for the convention, but it was beautiful nonetheless.
Saturday was spent at the Comic Con, where I saw Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan talk about their latest film, Captain America: Civil War (!!!) Annnndddddd I met my favorite actor of all time, Sebastian Stan! Let's just saying, there was a lot of internal screaming. My fangirl heart was about to explode, honestly. Sunday we drove back, after having a thoroughly fun day in a beautiful city.
The rest of my June consisted of writing, working on articles, museum and library visits, and too much shopping (oops).
I hope all my lovely US friends had a marvelous 4th of July! My family spent the weekend eating barbeque and lighting sparklers- there's nothing wrong with being a little cliche from time to time. The best part of the weekend for me was baking a super cool Captain America cake with my mom. It didn't look perfect, but it sure was delicious! (Oh, and I don't know if you noticed, but I kind of like Captain America haha)
This weekend, I'm meeting my favorite author, Chuck Palahniuk. He's been one of my greatest inspirations as a writer for years (hope I don't cry lol). Next week I'm seeing Panic! at the Disco and Weezer with my dad and two weeks later I'm seeing Halsey live. My summer is far from over and I am excited for every bit of it!
x
Casey
